The Department of Orthodontics has a predoctoral and postdoctoral component. The postdoctoral program has two tracks which, although not mutually exclusive, have different professional and educational objectives. The first of these, the Postgraduate course, is the clinical training activity of the Department. All six entering students must be accepted into this program before they may apply for admission to the Graduate School for the second program which culminates in the Master of Science degree. The Postdoctoral program has been in existence since 1947 and is designed to prepare the student for the specialized practice of orthodontics. This is a full-time 30 month course of instruction which leads to a Certificate of Proficiency in Orthodontics. |
