The comprehensive mission of the Department of Periodontology is :

To train predoctoral students in the art and science of Periodontology and Endodontics to meet and exceed the standards necessary for accreditation by the American Dental Association. To train dental specialists in the field of Periodontology and Endodontics for academic and research careers. To advance knowledge in Periodontology and Endodontics through research and community service. To educate and facilitate the continuing education of dental professionals in practice.
