Smile
Week Facts
In response to the new Dental Health Certificate requested by K-12 schools
across New York State, The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine,
The Eighth District Dental Society and many local dentists in the Western
New York area have partnered to participate in “Healthy Smile
Week.” If you would like to see the flyer, click on the
"NEW!" picture above.
Since many children do not have access to dental care, Smile Week
is intended to advocate for oral health and serve those children who do
not have dental insurance such as Medicaid, and whose schools
are requesting a Dental Health Certificate. For these children, free or
reduced cost screening and completion of the Dental Health Certificate
will be available at the participating offices below.
Smile Week also welcomes children who do not have a
dentist, since it is important that every child, with or without
insurance, have a dental home. For these children, a free or reduced cost
screening and the completion of the Dental Health Certificate will be
provided.
